How Magale Orphanage Got Started

Magale Orphanage Center started back in 2017 when a small church in Uganda decided to fulfill a commandment from the Bible about taking care of the orphans. In eastern Uganda, many families and villages start around the mountains due to the rich, fertile soil where they start farms, however, due to the high amounts of rain there are very dangerous landslides that can wipe out several villages. It is the landslide in 2017 set the little church Fountain Ministry Uganda Church into action to help save the orphans it left behind.

While many churches are started by a ‘mother church’ that supports it until it’s self-sustaining, or even a church that is started by a missionary that is connected to a larger denomination with other churches, this is not the history of Fountain Ministries. The small church of now 60 adult members works on taking care of the 150 orphans of whom over 80 have been orphaned due to the landslides that cause havoc in this region. The other children who arrive here come after their parents have died from sickness or clan wars and have no one to take care of them.

Due to the limited access this church has to share about this ministry they have started and because these children are orphans organizations like World Concern and Compassion International have not be organizations this ministry can seek support from. Other organizations like Samaritan’s Purse with Operation Christmas child are already full with obligations they must complete and can’t even take on another project. So, this little church has been praying for individual Christians to hear their prayers and help support these children.

A few years ago, God brought someone to establish a well on the property. In 2023 another person came in but only said they’d help if they change their statement of faith and basically give full control in which the pastor told them that this was THEIR people and THEIR nation and what God told them to do, and they could not hand it over. The people withdrew all their help and moved all their funds to another orphanage in Uganda (please be careful in giving through GoFundMe and confirm through email or facebook this is someone who is actually helping these orphans). In July of 2024 Evangelist David Woodrum, founder of International Harvest of Jubilee IHOJ, and shared the need over facebook and that is where my family now is attempting to get them help.
