A Forgotten Missionfield

Many years ago, when God opened a door for me to start teaching children’s ministry in WA state I felt that somehow I missed my calling to be a missionary. Then all the sudden one day I began asking God if I was just not seeing missions from HIS PERSPECTIVE. I began studying children and the impact of church, the family, and the gospel.

Do you realize that reaching a child with the gospel is far easier and effective that when they are adults? Or that before a child is 12 is the ideal time for them to be the most receptive to the gospel? Or that over 1/2 of the children who get saved get saved because of the example of their parents?

What about these children here in Africa who have lost everything including their parents. The closest things they have to parents are the workers here but do you realize that when child sponsors are talked about and they see another child get sponsored you are called a ‘spiritual parent’ to them because you care for their needs even though you can’t be there with them?

Will you consider sponsoring a child who desperately needs to know that someone cares for them by giving them 3 meals a day, an education, and medical care?

If you’d like to sponsor a child, I am working with this orphanage because I have seen the love and care these children get. I have sponsored two children from here. My friends have traveled here and visited this orphanage when I was unable to. Input and feedback can be sent to my email berrydirl@gmail.com if you have questions. Materials in the printable section will be updated as I am able.
