Mourning

Another landslide took out 3 villages and killed men, women, and children. We are in mourning. Some of these men, women, and children are from other local churches and the mourning is great not only for families but for the church families here. II was one of the first ones on the scene and dealt with some interviews from local media as well as other tasks. We were asked to take on more orphans due to this landslide and I had to say no. We don’t have the funds to take care of the children we have here. We mainly survive due to a few families in the United States and who are trying to help us be self-sufficient. It’s one reason we have so many projects we are working on so that we can be self-sufficient, but they all require money or time.

No loss of life is easy. I can’t tell you as we lay bodies out accounting for each individual who has lost their life. The young men carrying the dead out on their backs we mourn. That is someone’s son, daughter, mother, or father. That is someone who meant something to someone and meant even more to our Heavenly Father.

If you want to help us the money can be sent through Sendwave. I know this can be a difficult app to manage at first but it is the fastest way to get funds to us. The survivors of this landslide need mattresses, clothes, food and shelter. We are doing what we can with what we have but it’s not much. Pray God will multiply each and every gift of time, labor, material and money to meet the needs here in Uganda.
