The children came to me the other day and asked about if this year they will get a Christmas. They pointed out it’s been 2 years since they have gotten things like new clothes or shoes. My only response to them is that they need to pray and have faith. I don’t know what this next season might hold or how God will show that He will provide but I know that God hears the prayers of his children.
If you’d like to give a gift of any amount please send it through Sendwave as what is posted in FAQ area. I know it can be a bit of a chore but it’s the cheapest way to send money to Uganda where we get all of it without money being taken out. You can also use Western Union but it tends to be a bit of a pain with all the fraud plus the extra $17 it costs to send it last time someone tried.
We have already tried reaching out to see if we could get on the list for operation Christmas child and they are still trying to fulfill their obligations. Ideas if you wanted to send a box would be as follows:
- Clothing any size including shoes, underwear, tops, bottoms,
- Pencils
- Blocks
- Crayons, watercolors, pencils, markers
- Dolls
- Toy cars
- Stuffed toys for the younger children
- Tools and sewing kits for the older children
- Gardening tools
Gifts that keep on giving:
- Chickens (we have 10 currently) and they are almost to egg production but more chickens or chicken food would be a gift that keeps on giving. It’s about $5 a chicken
- Goat it’s about $50 a goat which provides milk, meat, and the ability to sell
- Gardening tools
We have a ball pump and two soccer balls and two jump ropes that the 150 children share and a few dolls and blocks at this point in time.
